Drake Howard Meet the Team

Drake Howard Property Limited acting in a joint agency capacity with Drake Commercial has completed a new letting to Axon Public Safety UK Limited on a 22,000 sq. ft. modern industrial building at Sopwith Way, Daventry.

The US parent, Axon Enterprise Inc., based in Arizona develops technologies and products for military enforcement. Its first product was the Taser, from which the Company took its original name.

The Company has added to diversity by developing body camera’s, drone and in car camera’s, software and a Cloud based digital evidence platform.

The UK Company has taken a full repair and insuring lease for 10 years, with mid-term break option, at a headline rent equivalent to £6.00 per sq. ft. A refit of the premises is planned to include a high level of security fixtures, office, showroom and training facilities.

The property is managed by Drake Howard Property and as the lease of the former occupier drew near to expiry, the Northampton based agency (of similar name) was engaged to assist in finding a new tenant.

Recently, marketing another industrial unit in Daventry.  Axon expressed an interest on that property but were not quite ready for relocation at the time. It was down to Tom Drake staying in touch with the good people at Axon which led to this fantastic letting. It was a property agent partnership in the truest sense. Tom bottoming out the deal with Cushman & Wakefield acting for Axon, while we handled the exit of the former occupier, dilapidations claim and technical assistance to C&W Building Surveyors. The Lease was signed 35 days after expiry of the existing lease, at a substantially increased rental income.”
