Phocas Software Limited has remodelled and fitted the ground floor office at 2020 House, Middlemarch Business Park, in conjunction with securing a letting to medical device company, Quantum Imaging Limited.

Transforming space from what was a cluttered quasi-workshop with defunct fixtures & fittings, to a modern open plan workspace, with executive offices and conference rooms.

The former occupier of the space had let the accommodation fall into disrepair, but was not in a position to undertake necessary remedial work. The owner of the building and Drake Howard Property formulated a plan, to market the space on the strength of a refit to come.

It took a few viewings by prospective new tenants for the agent to convey the vision of a self-contained office suite with modern fixtures and a few potential special features. However, Quantum Imaging Limited, immediately bought into that vision and relished the opportunity for input into the scope of works.

A new ladies toilet, staff break-out area, small workshop and shower room were all incorporated into the air conditioned office specification. The vision is now a clear reality and a feature, boardroom table and chairs provide the finishing touch.

Phocas and Quantum entered into an Agreement to Lease to facilitate the works, which were completed within a 12 week programme. Drake Howard Property not only negotiated the terms of the Agreement and Lease terms, but also specified the refit and project managed the works.

The new facility will be home to product development including the ground-breaking Quantum Vitalscan, a portable medical device that can scan a patient presenting with chest pain in less than 5 minutes, helping doctors to rule out acute cardiac conditions, such as a heart attack or severe heart disease.
